Well, we've arrived at Rosas, as expected shortly after midday. The night on the bus wasn't too bad and we both managed to get a few hours sleep. In spite of that we are a bit jaded and after reviving ourselves a little at a beachfront bar with some tapas and beer
we set off for a short ride of about 30km south down the coast to l'Escala.
We thought that the flat coastal terrain would make for easy cycling, but a very strong and gusty southerly wind proved rather challenging. However we enjoyed the changing scenery from smart coastal resort and marinas to orchards and fields full of storks which were also wheeling overhead. We're now at a very big, but quite attractive campsite sheltering from heavy rain which is forecast to continue all night. It should ease by the morning and we hope to feel refreshed and ready for a longer day riding through Girona and into the hills.
Rosas to l'Escala - 30km, ascent negligible.
I’m cheering you two all the way - packing up a wet tent doesn’t sound great though! Please can we have a photo of you with your bikes for me to show at work?
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie
DeleteI'll do that tomorrow. Not many photos today as it rained a lot. Love to all at HP.
