Day 32 Calera y Chozas to Cazalegas via Talavera Opthamology Department

This was a strange day.
For a few days Ben has been experiencing some problems with his left eye. There was just a chance that these could be symptoms of a detached retina, so he needed to be checked for that. We've been in quite remote countryside with small villages where it hasn't been possible to do this, but today we passed through the large town of Talavera de la Reina where there is a big hospital. The system was very efficient and  he was taken up to the opthalmology department straight away and seen within 30 minutes. A thorough inspection showed retinal problems, but no tears or detachment. This was a relief and after an enforced rest at a campsite we will carry on our route tomorrow.

Calera y Chozas to Cazalegas - 40km, ascent negligible.
